Bio

Lillian J. Jarecke, 93 of St. Edward, NE passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Cloverlodge Care Center in St. Edward. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21, 2011 at St. Edward Catholic Church in St. Edward, NE with burial in the Valley View Cemetery at Genoa, NE. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the church with a 7:00 p.m. wake service. Miller-Levander Funeral Home of St. Edward is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to St. Edward Catholic Church. Lillian was born Feb. 13, 1918 in Nance County near Krakow, NE, to John and Mary (Swantek) Ziemba. She attended rural schools in Nance County. On May 3, 1948, she married Theodore S. Jarecke at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at Krakow, NE, near Genoa. Together they farmed near Genoa until Sept. 1979, when they moved to St. Edward, NE. Lillian entered Cloverlodge Care Center in April 2010. Lillian enjoyed sewing, crafts, cooking, gardening and playing bingo. She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include her sisters: Loretta (Louie) Snell of Omaha, NE; Theresa Armatys of Cedar Rapids, NE; Helen Munson of Genoa, NE; brother-in-law: Art Jarecke of Columbus, NE; sister-in-law: Frances Ziemba of Cedar Rapids, NE. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ted on June 14, 2002; a sister Valeria Iwan; brothers: Steve, Julian, Edward, Johnny, Stanley and Frank Ziemba.
