Bio

The Wellington Leader December 18, 1997 Elbert Watts, age 91, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 1997 in Wellington. Born in Hopkins County, Texas on February 22, 1906 to Wylie and Urman Drake Watts, he married Esther Rankin December 29, 1928 in Childress. He was a farmer until her retired in 1990 and was a member of the KHIVA Temple of Amarillo as well as a member of Wellington Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Orb, Pete, J.D. and Shorty and by two sisters, Ruby Crawley and Eunice Nunnelley. Survivors include his wife, Esther, of the home; a daughter Glenda Elain Watts of Amarillo and one brother, Web Watts of Muleshoe.
