Bio

From the archives of Henderson County Historical Commission Horton young, 73, of LaRue died suddenly at 4:30 a.m. Monday in a Tyler hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Hassell and Foster chapel with the Rev. Faulk Landrum officiating, and burial will be in LaRue cemetery. Pallbearers will be Woodrow Walker, Reagan Jenkins, Jack Little, Harris Ballow, Joe Tarrant and Joe Miller. Born in LaRue, Mr. Young owned and operated a grocery store at LaRue for 38 years before retiring eight years ago. He was a veteran of WWI and a member of the United Methodist church in Athens. He was a lifelong resident of LaRue. Mr. Young is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gladys Young of LaRue; one son, Joe young of LaRue; one daughter, Mrs. Morris Faulk of Athens; three brothers, Arthur Young of Beaumont, Ernest young of San Angelo and Alvin Young of Stephenville; one sister, Mrs. Vivian Dunklin of Valley Mills and three grandchildren.
