Son of John Cernohlavek. Married June 1, 1921 to Emma Josephine Seidl. Father of William. Cancer Takes Billings Man Jerry Cernohlavek Succumbs at 52 Jerry Cernohlavek, 52, of 1128 North Broadway, died of cancer at 2:45 p.m. Thursday at a local hospital. Cernohlavek, a checker for the Northern Pacific railroad, had been ill for five years, and was taken to the hospital Sunday. He was born Aug. 24, 1891, in Pilsen, Neb. to Mr. & Mrs. John Cernohlavek. When a child he went with his family to Columbia Falls. Later they moved to Ballantine where he lived for a short time before moving to Billings 25 years ago. On June 1, 1921, he married Emma Seidl at Billings. He served overseas with the First infantry division during the first World War, and spent 19 months in France and Germany. He was a member of Yellowstone post No. 4, American Legion. Survivors are the widow; one son, William, a cadet at DePaul university in Chicago, who arrived here Wednesday morning; his parents Mr. & Mrs. John Cernohlavek of 511 South Thirty-seventh street; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Swoboda of 515 South Thirty-seventh street and Mrs. Frank Focher of Ballantine, and three brothers, Lewis of Riverside Drive, Frank of Bringer and William of Bozeman.
