Avis Grace Mitchell of Livingston, born to Edward & Dora Mabin Shimek in Hemmingford, Nebraska on February 17, 1924, passed away in Livingston, Texas Wednesday February 3, 2011 at the age of 86. Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her daughter, Alice Mitchell & husband James; brother, Roy Shimek; sisters, Daisy Mundshank, Mary Robinson, Helen Newcomb and Bertha Johnson; three, grandchildren, three great-grand children and six great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Pernell Mitchell; two brothers; two sisters; and one grandchild. Visitation was held Monday, February 7, 2011 from 5-7 PM at Pace Funeral Home. Graveside services was Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at West Tempe Cemetery with Chaplin Dwayne Thornton officiating. Family would like to extend a warm thanks, to everyone at The Bradford Nursing Home and the Heart to Heart Hospice for all their care. Pace Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
