Obituary (from the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow funeral home website): Mary Frances Strickland age 88, of Plano, Texas passed away on February 23, 2009. She was born on December 27, 1920 in McKinney, Texas to James Milton Drake, Sr. and Johnnie Ona (Warden) Drake. On April 4, 1955 she married Martin Glyn Strickland in McKinney, Texas. She was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her children, Martin Glyn Strickland, Jr. of McKinney, Texas, Teresa Beth Strickland of Plano, Texas, Mark Dannis Strickland of Plano, Texas, Gentry Strickland of The Colony, Texas and Guthry Strickland of Murphy, Texas; eighteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and two on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband Martin Glyn Strickland, Sr., her parents and three brothers. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 26, 2009 in the Chapel at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, with Pastor Rod Corner officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas.
