Bio

'Daddy Joe', as he was called, was born on the old Bingham Farm in Collin Co. WNW of McKinney, Tx. He was the eldest of twelve children, born to Richard Harvey and Amanda Elizabeth (Taylor) Kirkland. He married Jewell Mills in 1914 at the old store owned by R.C. Horn in Collin County. Toward the end of his life he lived at Lake Tawakoni (he loved to fish), but died at the home of a daughter in Carrollton, Tx.
