Bio

Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent Tuesday, 16 March 1920 Laviar (sic) Warren was born in Kingstown, Ind., January 27, 1841 (sic), and passed away at the home of her daughter near Giltner, Neb., March 5 (sic), 1920, aged 79 years, 1 month and 6 days. She was united in marriage in 1857 to James Grant, who passed away five years later. To this union were born two children, Mrs. Florence Lewis of Dawson, Ia., and Mrs. Florinda House, who passed away at her home near Ainsworth, Neb., but two weeks before her mother. After her husband's death, Mrs. Grant moved to Iowa and was married to William S. Shultz in 1870. She and her husband immediately came to Hall county, Neb., where they have since resided. To them six children were born: Mary Shultz of Norfolk, Neb., Mrs. Laura Dilky of Giltner, Neb., Charles of Comstock, Neb., William of Doniphan, and John and Alma, the last two named having passed away in childhood. Funeral services were held from the Methodist church in Doniphan, conducted by Rev. T. H. Worley, on Sunday, March 7, at 11 o'clock a.m. Interment was made in the family lot in Cedarview cemetery. The family has the sympathy of a large circle of friends.
