Bio

Funeral services were conducted Monday, October 14, at 10 o'clock at the Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church of Choynice for Andrew Siuda, 82, a long-time resident of Ashton. Rev. Milan Kopushar offered the Requiem High Mass. Burial was at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. The Badura Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Siuda died Thursday, Oct. 10 in a St. Paul hospital. Although he had been in failing health for the past several years, his death was unexpected. Andrew Siuda Sr., was born at Farwell Nov. 19, 1880 to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Siuda. He was married Feb. 7, 1905 to Cecelia Graczyk at Choynice. They made their home near St. Libory on a farm until 1917, when they moved to a farm north of Ashton where they lived until the death of Mrs. Siuda in 1960. Since then he made his home with his children. Surviving are six children: Mrs. Mary Kuszak, Ashton, Mrs. Victoria Dymek and Mrs. Sophia Robak, Grand Island; Andrew, Jr., Cairo; Johnnie and Eddie, Ashton; a sister, Mrs. Pauline Sonnenfeld of Loup City; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, Joe and Stanley; three sister, Mary Greenwalt, Josie Kowalski and Frances Griek. Pallbearers were Edwin Panowicz, Dannebrog, Clarence Shuda, Grand Island, Joe Schuda, Loup City and John Gilbert and John Nagorski of Arcadia.
