Bio

Joseph was the son of Robert B. & Phoebe Fugate Vicars. He married Nancy Jane Honaker, the daughter of John & Lucinda Powers Honaker, on May 7, 1872 in Russell County. The couple were the parents of Robert Clay, Lucinda Belle, Daisy R. and John Wesley Vicars. Mr. Vicars earned his living by farming his own land. Mr. Vicars passed away from the effects of influenza, complicated by the effects of bronchopneumonia.
