Mrs. Herbert (Wilma) Altus, age 85 of Leroy, passed away Saturday morning, January 24, 1998 in Hillcrest Medical Center at West. Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. January 29 in St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Tours followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:15 a.m. with the Rev. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Martin’s Cemetery in Tours. Mrs. Altus was born April 28, 1912 in West and had lived in the West-Leroy area all of her life. She was a member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Tours and Catholic Daughters of America Court No. 829. She married Herbert Altus on February 24, 1936. Survivors include her husband, Herbert; three sons, Robert Altus of West, Tom Altus and wife Martha of Arlington and John Altus and wife Cindy of Richardson; two brothers, Henry Wrbas of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and Otto Wrbas of Humble; and seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers are Gene Horak, Steve Altus, Darrell Altus, Robbie Altus, John Michael Altus and Brian Altus. Kotch Funeral Home in West is in charge of arrangements.
