Married May 2 1898 Howard Co., NE ------------------------------------------- J. Platek died at his home three miles east of Ashton Tuesday morning after an illness of two weeks. He had not reached his twenty-ninth birthday. He was married to Mary Koslicki [sic] in 1899 [sic]. The funeral was held Wednesday and all that was mortal was interred in the Paplin cemetery, Rev. Radke conducting the services. The large number of friends who attended the funeral testified to the respect in which he was held by all. Mr. Platek leaves a wife and four children to mourn for him.
