Bio

Married first, Nov 19 1895 Howard Co, NE, Michael Szydzyk Married second, 1910 Howard Co, NE, John Derdowski One child, Louis (b. 1911 NE), living with uncle and aunt, John and Anna Derdowski Rewolinski in St Louis Co., MO in 1930 ---------------------------------------- Mrs John Derdowski Passes Away This community was shocked last Friday when the death of Mrs. John Derdowski was announced, who died very suddenly this morning. Mrs. Derdowski was in good health the evening before, and worked up to nearly midnight getting things ready for special communion services at the Paplin church the next day when several of her children were to be confirmed. About a half hour after she had retired she suffered a stroke of paralysis, from which she never regained consciousness, and expired at Nine O'Clock a. m., Friday June 6. The death is a sad one to the extreme. Mrs. (Miss) Rewolinski was born in Elyria, Lorain county Ohio July 7, 1878 and came to Sherman county in 1885 and on Nov. 19, 1896 she was united in marriage to Michael Szydzyk, who was killed by a stroke of lightning Aug. 4, 1909. She was again married the following year to John Derdowski. The deceased leaves 7 children from her first husband and one child from her second. The oldest is 16 years and the youngest 2 years old. The funeral services were held from the Paplin church Saturday. The entire community mourns the death of this wife and mother and the sympathy especially goes out to the bereaved husband and children. The Times-Independent - Jun 12 1913 ------------------------------------------------------------ Died, at ther home after an illness of only a few hours, of heart trouble, Mrs. Rosella Derdowski, Friday, June 6, 1878. Rosella Rewolinski was born in Elyria, Lorain County, on the 6th day of July, 1878, being at the time of her death, 34 years and 11 months old. In the spring of 1886, she came to Nebraska with her parents, living on a farm, and in the fall of 1896, on the 10th day of November, she was married to Mr. Michael Szydzek. To this union seven children were born, six sons and one daughter, all living. The husband, Michael Szydzek, was instantly killed by lightning on the farm where they now reside while stacking grain on August 14, 1909. The next spring, Mrs. Szydzek was married to John Derdowski and to them one child was born deceased. She leaves to mourn her death, 8 children, a heart-broken husband and two brothers and one sister, all residing in this community. She was a hard-working woman, very pious and religious and a very good mother to her children, which makes her death more sorrowful. Two of her children were to make their First Communion the next day after her funeral but she had them all prepared for this glad occasion. She was laid to rest in the Paplin Cemetery, Saturday, followed by nearly the entire Paplin parish. The children and husband have the sympathy of this community at the time of this deep bereavement.
