Bio

Sealy News, Thursday, January 23, 1958: Frank Dirba, retired farmer of Wallis, died in the Sealy Hospital at 12:07 a.m. Sunday, January 19, at the age of 84 years. Funeral services for Mr. Dirba were held from the Knesek and Sons Funeral Home in Wallis at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, followed by services at Guardian Angels' Church, with the Rev. A.W. Nesvadba officiating. Interment was in Guardian Angels' Cemetery. Rosary recited was at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Monday, January 20. Arrangements were under the direction of the Knesek Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Joe Manna, Frank Dirba, Henry Dirba, Henry Dvorak, Joe Konvicka, and Edmund Vykoukal. Mr. Dirba was born near Ellinger in August 1873 and was reared there. In the year 1895, he married Agnes Orsak in Ellinger; she preceded him in death. He was a member of the Guardian Angels' Church of Wallis. Survivors are eight daughters, Mrs. Martha Manna, Mrs. Mary Vykoukal, Mrs. Sophie Novosad, and Mrs. Louise Drabek, all of Wallis, Mrs. Julie Stojnek, Mrs. Millie Dvorak, and Mrs. Emma Dvorak of West, and Mrs. Frances Stavena of El Campo; four sons, Raymond Dirba, Joe Dirba, and John Dirba, all of Wallis, and Frank Dirba of El Campo; one brother, Joe Dirba of Plum; 55 grandchildren; and 46 great-grandchildren.
