Bio

Houston Chronicle, January 1, 2002: Melvin C. Brown, 75, passed away on December 31, 2001. Mr. Brown served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. After the discharge from the Navy, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served as a Tech Sargent. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Doris Brown; son, Keith Brown and wife, Katherine; daughter, Cheryl Mire and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Ryann and Graham Malone; brother, Malcolm Brown; sisters Margie Whitus and Peggy Connor; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 6:30 - 8:30 P.M. Wednesday, January 2, 2002, at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway at Eldridge. Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday, January 3, 2002, at St. Timothy United Methodist Church, 8787 N. Houston Rosslyn Rd., with Rev. Nancy Kellond officiating. Interment to follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery. He was a member of St. Timothy United Methodist Church and those who wish to honor him may do so with a donation to the church.
