Bio
Mr. W. R. Royal, living near Meridian, died Wednesday afternoon, May 11, 1904, at 4 o'clock, after an illness of several weeks, ages 76 years and 4 days. Everything was done to prolong his life, but that dread disease, dropsy, prevailed and proved fatal. Funeral services were held in the Methodist church, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and interment in Meridian Cemetery, Rev. W. B. Jones, of Iredell, conducted the services. The Tribune joins the many friends of the bereaved family in extending sympathy and condolence. Note: (Heart Dropsy, is known today as Congestive Heart Failure, it tends to be hereditary) .
