Bio

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN Died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. P. D. Clanton, near Iredell, March 22nd 1905. at 2 o'clock a.m. Mrs. Mary E. Royal, aged 76 years, widow of the late W. R. Royal. She was a native of South Carolina. She was married in Talbot County Georgia in 1894 and with her husband settled near Iredell in Bosque County. She was the mother of 13 children, eight of who are still living. She professed religion and united with the M. E. Church, South, in her childhood and from that time to the day of her death endeavored to live according to the rules of her church and the teachings of God's Holy Word. She was held in high esteem by all who knew her, as a true Christian lady; she was kindhearted, charitable, and ever ready to help those in distress, and for the last few years she has been looked upon as a true mother in Israel. But, this life is gone, the breath has fled. And what has been, no more will be. That well known form, that welcome tread, O' where are they, and where is she? Gone to heaven to be with her husband, children and loved ones who receded her to that beautiful home. She leaves eight children to mourn her loss as a kind loving mother. Her body was buried in the Meridian Cemetery the day following her death, at 10 o'clock a.m. The funeral service was conducted by Re. J. D. Hendrickson, pastor of the M. E. Church of this city, in the presence of a large assembly of relatives and friends. The Tribune unites with the entire community in extending sympathy to the bereaved family and loved one.
