Collin County, TX, death certificate #48382: Thomas Jefferson Barnes was born in Missouri 16 July 1843 to Tom Barnes born MO and Susan Ball born VA. Informant Jim Hill of McKinney. Thomas was a married laborer when he died in McKinney at age 75 years, 3 mo, 24 days on 9 Nov 1918 due to heart disease per Dr. W.S. Wysong of McKinney, and was buried in Pecan Grove Cemetery by undertaker Mason of McKinney on 11 Nov 1918. --ks, thanks to Debbie (49715006) for link to record 11-1-23. 1850 Cooper Co. Henry owns $4,000 farm; John owns $5,000 farm; Thomas not found. 11 March 1874 Thomas Barnes of Missoura and Miss Mary C. White of Washington, Hempstead Co. Arkansas, were married by Samuel Williamson, Presbyterian Church minister, at the minister's house. 1880 Collin Co. TX, Justice Pct, age 35 farming with brother Jesse age 21; wife Mary C. 24 MO, daughters age 3 and 1 born Arkansas. 1900 Collin Co. TX, McKinney City, Teamster age 55, July 1844 MO, parents VA; wife Mary 44, July 1855, 8 children, 7 living, 5 girls in hh age 3 to 18; mother E.M. White 70, Feb 1830 KY parents KY, 2 ch 2 lvg. 1910 census, Collin Co. TX, McKinney City, Tom J. age 64 MO, VA-VA, manager of the mule barn; Mary 54 MO, KY-KY, 9 children 8 living, 4 girls in hh age 8-20; Elizabeth White 82 KY, France-Eng, m-i-l, 2 ch 2 lvg. Owns house free.
