Herald Coaster, October 22, 1998: Funeral services for Mary Blahuta, 96, of Wallis, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis, with Rev. Al Walsh celebrating the funeral mass and rite of committal. A parish rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, from the Knesek & Sons Funeral Home in Wallis. Interment will be at the Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery in Wallis. Serving as pallbearers are Edwin Dusek, Glen Blahuta, Leon Viaclovsky, Ronnie Viaclovsky, Melvin Blahuta, and Jerry Schank. She was born Mary Viaclovsky on Sept. 7, 1902 in Wallis to parents, Frank Viaclovsky and Agnes Klecka Viaclovsky. She was raised in Wallis and attended the Krasna School. On Nov. 18, 1924, she married Mr. Emil Blahuta in Wallis. Mrs. Blahuta was a homemaker all her life, a member of the Guardian Angel Catholic Church, and a member of KJZT. She died on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1998, in Wallis. She is survived by her daughter, Thelma Hubenak of Wallis; a brother, Jerome Viaclovsky of Wallis; grandchildren, Royce Hubenak, Karen Miller and her husband, Keith; and great-grandchildren, Kami and Katelyn Hubenak. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Agnes Viaclovsky; her husband, Emil Blahuta; infant son, Marvin Blahuta; sisters, Frances Gajevsky, Bessie King, Wilma Dusek; brothers, Charles, Theo, John, and Sylvester Viaclovsky; and a son-in-law, Gene Hubenak. Memorial contributions may be made to the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Wallis. Arrangements are under the direction of Knesek and Sons Funeral Home in Wallis.
