Funeral services for Alex Fojtik, Jr. 71, of Needville, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan.11, 2011. Alex was born March 9, 1939 in Needville, son of the late Alex Fojtik, Sr. and Albina Witek Fojtik. Alex was a lifetime resident of Needville and attended Needville schools. He enjoyed visiting with friends and family, playing dominos, cards and listening to Hank Williams, Sr. Alex worked as a career carpenter up until eight years ago when his partner and wife, Carolyn Fojtik, passed away. Survivors include son, Derek "Fludd" Fojtik of Needville, daughter and son in law Barbara and Larry Wagonner of Santa Fe, Texas, grandson Michael Lindemann and wife Amanda of Rosenberg, grandson Zachary Lindemann of Needville and great-grandson Zane Lindemann of Rosenberg, sister and brother in law Rose and Brookes Stavinoha of Rosenberg. Pallbearers were Michael Lindemann, Zachary Lindemann, Larry Fojtik, Gary Fojtik, Calvin Fojtik, James Stavinoha and honorary pallbearers were Willie Witek and Bo Kostelnik. Alex was laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery with funeral services under the direction of Caballero-Ryder Funeral home in Rosenberg, Texas.
