Funeral services for Theodore Leo Ganske, Jr., "Junior", 79, of Wharton, will be held at 2:00 P. M., Friday, January 14, 2011 at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg with Pastor Laura Olson officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P. M. until service time at 2:00 P. M., Friday, January 14, 2011 at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg. Theodore was born July 31, 1931 in Needville to Theodore Leo Ganske, Sr. and Annie Augusta Albrecht Ganske. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army and was a disabled veteran. He was a member of American Legion Post #271 where he served as a service officer. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wharton. He passed away January 11, 2011 in Sugar Land. Theodore was preceded in death by his wife, Alda; parents, Theodore and Annie Ganske; and brother-in-law, Ervin Poncik. He is survived by his sister, Alice Poncik; sister-in-law, Raye Dean and husband, Joe; nieces, Brenda Treybig, Wanda Kent, Theresa Porche, Mary Gumm and Belinda Dean; nephew, Ervin Poncik; devoted personal sitter, Iola Pendegraph; along with other relatives and many friends. For those wishing, donations may be made in memory of Theodore to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 325 N. East Ave., Wharton, Texas, 77488 or to American Legion Post 271, P. O. Box 31, Beasley, Texas, 77417. The family would like to thank the staff at Wharton Rehabilitation Center and the doctors and staff at Triumph Southwest Hospital and Gulf Coast Medical Center.
