Bio
John M. Terry, Jr., 83, of Oneida, passed away Thursday afternoon, August 18, 1988, at the Scott County Hospital. He was the son of the late John M. and Elizabeth Brown Terry and was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Flarra Hall Terry; four sisters: Lela Muller, Edna Litton, Dorothy Davis, and Maude Chitwood; and three brothers: Darius, William, and Benton Terry. He is survived by three daughters: Betty Matthews and Peggy West, both of Oneida, and Mary Foster of Paducah, Ky.; four sons: John Hall Terry of Lakeworth, Fla., Howard Terry of Robbins, Charles Terry of Cincinnati, O., and Donald Terry of West Chester, O.; one sister, Ruth Reinhimer of Independence, Ky.; one brother, Caldwell Terry of Oneida; fifteen grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, August 21, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Jones and Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Bobby Hill officiating. Burial was in the Terry addition of the Litton Cemetery in Oneida. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Oneida School Building Fund. Jones and Son Funeral Home of Oneida was in charge of the arrangements.
