Obituary (from the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow funeral home website): Willie Wesley Parks of Garland, Texas passed away on June 28, 2019 at the age of 94. He was born on May 11, 1925 to Roy Lee Parks, Sr. and Hazel Estell (Luster) Parks in Blue Ridge, Texas. Willie married Winnie Fae McFerrin on March 21, 1944 in Anna, Texas. He was a farmer up to the end of WWII. Willie then began a career in construction; building stock tanks and helping build one of the runways at Love Field. He worked for Hughes Tool and Ingersoll Rand drilling Equipment Company where he retired. Willie is survived by his sons, Dudley Parks, Larry Parks and wife, Deborah all of Garland, Texas and Ricky Parks of Wylie, Texas; daughter, Vickie Rickman and husband, Joe of Hawkins, Texas; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Winnie; his parents, Roy Lee, Sr. and Hazel; brothers, J.W., Odell, Roy Jr., Arlin and Jerry; and his sister, Opal Hendricks. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
