Bio

Willie Artis Kuykendall (April 6, 1914 - January 4, 2011) Willie Artis Kuykendall, 96, of Bryan went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 in a local hospital. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, January 7, 2011 in the Gabriels Funeral Chapel & Crematory in Georgetown. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Florence City Cemetery. Willie was the last surviving child of ten born to Jacob Robert and Mary Ellen (King) Ward in Elgin on April 6, 1914. The driving passion of her life was to always be helping and caring for others without consideration for herself. This characteristic she instilled in her family to be carried on through the generations. Willie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings. She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Peggy Williamson of Bryan; granddaughters, Linda and husband Jack Perrone, and Janet and husband Gerald Ison all of Bryan; great-grandchildren, John and Donna Boyd, Rachelle McDonald, Justin and Tracey Roberts, David and Sherri Bustos, Brittany Ison, Garrett Ison all of Bryan, and Justin and Jackie Mayberry of Uniontown, KY.; great-great grandchildren, Micheal, Mara, Corrie, Chase, Dylan, Alex, Makayla, Ashlee, Jacob, and Jaxson. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Lampstand and St. Joseph Regional Health Center, and a special thanks to Willie's caregiver, Celestine Smith of Bryan.
