Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent Monday, 17 February 1964 Mrs. Minnie Swartz died early Sunday morning in a local hospital. She had been seriously ill for the past week. The family residence is at 1216 East Sixth. Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced by the Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Mrs. Swartz was born in 1888 at Rasen (sic), Ia. When she was a child, the family moved to Wisconsin and it was in that state that she grew to womanhood. She and Walter Swartz were married in Wisconsin. They were travelers and lived in various communities in the midwest. They came to Nebraska in the early 1900's. Mr. Swartz died in 1942. She is survived by three sons, Conales (sic), Louis and James Swartz, all of Grand Island; four daughters, Mrs. Mable Mason, Walthill, Mrs. Helen Matson, Elda, Ia., Mrs. Ada Thompson, Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Lucill Mason of Creighton; a brother, Green Swartz (sic), Farmersburg, Ia.; a sister, Mrs. Ada Pickett, Bearboo, Wis.; 33 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
