The Whitney Messenger & Lake Whitney News, Whitney, Hill County, Texas, May 26, 1989 - "Eloda Shelton - Alice Eloda Shelton, 89, of Fresno California passed away on April 28th at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Isaac and Minnie Alice Behringer of Whitney. She married J. Wriley Shelton and moved to California in 1926. He preceded her in death. They were owners of the Shelton Roofing and Lumber Co. After his death she managed the company until 1954. She is remembered for knitting and hand work and was the oldest entrant to win first prize in the 1987 Fresco County Fair for her hand work. Surviving are a daughter Freddie Joe Lofton, of Washington, a son J. Wriley Shelton Jr., brother I.A. (Drew) Behringer, a sister Mrs. L. W. (Clara) Harris of Whitney, and 3 grandchildren. Burial was in Belmont Memorial park, Fresno, California"
