Mabel Smith Mrs. Mabel Smith passed away in her home January 3, 2011 at the age of 94. Funeral services will be held at Mt. Hebron Primitive Baptist Church, Coaltown Road, Purvis at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 6, where she was a long time member. Pastors Mike Sills and Elder Sammy Odom will officiate. Visitation will be at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home Purvis Chapel, Wednesday, January 5, 2011 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. Burial will be at Pleasant Home Cemetery, Purvis-Baxterville Road, Purvis. She was a homemaker, dedicated to her husband and lifelong partner, Thomas Albert Smith, her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband (11-12-1999) and six siblings. She is survived by her seven children; D.C. Smith of Irving, TX, Jean Manning of Aransas Pass, TX, Ruby Barron of Jordan, AR, Tommy Smith of Medina, TN, Sylvia Jones of Greenville, SC, John Laurn Smith of Greenville, SC and Joseph Smith of Purvis; her sister, Dorothy Altom of Purvis; brother, Chester Housley of Montgomery, AL; nineteen grandchildren, thirty five great grandchildren, and other family members and friends. Mrs. Smith was truly a living example of Proverbs 31:10-31...God Blessed with a Heavenly Transition.
