Salamae "Sally" Methe, 88, of Kearney died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at Good Samaritan Hospital. Sally was born Oct. 23, 1922, in Elyria to Joseph and Kathrine (Walahoski) Danczak. On April 8, 1942, she married Leo Methe in Omaha. He preceded her in death. Survivors are: son, Jim and his wife, Cheryl, of Omaha; daughters, Dianne Kraus of Grand Island and Marilyn Beckman and her husband, Bryant, of Lincoln; grandchildren, Brenda Graham of Cambridge, Barbara Green of Moorpark, Calif., Sarah Wenberg and her husband, Michael, and Jill Beckman, all of Omaha, Ann Thompson of Lincoln and Steven Beckman of Ithaca, N.Y.; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and brother, Simon Danczak of San Francisco. Sally grew up in the Elyria and Ord area. She was a graduate of Ord High School. She and Leo lived for a time on a farm south of Gibbon. She was employed by Kearney State College. They later made their home in Kearney. Sally was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Altar Society and the Lay Carmelites. Her pastimes included cooking, baking, sewing and gardening. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Margaret Poirier and Cecelia Blakesley. Published in the Kearney Hub on 1/4/2011
