........................................................... Mafalda "Polly" Flande Janis passed away at Hearthstone of Northern Nevada at the age of 87. She was a native of Bologna, Italy. Polly was born to Gilbert and Josephine Luckini Flande. She had lived in the Reno area for the past 10 years, coming from Scio, OR. Polly was a homemaker and a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Community of Sparks, NV. She is survived by her daughter, Rosemary Howard of Sparks; son, John of Hermiston, OR; sister, Margaret Eckstein and brothers, Michael and Junior Flande, all of Scio; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Peter passed away in December 1978.
