Roy Stayton Roy G. Staton, 85, of 2417 Westmoreland, died about 3 a.m. Sunday morning at West Texas Medical Center after a short illness. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at North's Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange. Maj. Harry Powell will officiate. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. He was born August 10, 1895 in Tennessee and moved to Taylor County in 1907. He was a retired painter and paperhanger and member of the Baptist church. His wife, a son and a daughter preceded him in death. Survivors include a son, Charlie Stayton of 1434 Hope St.; a daughter, Mrs. A. B. Shults of 625 Jeanette; a step-daughter, Ella Mae Woodall of Abilene; two sisters, Velma Vaughn and Mrs. Ruby Martin, both of Dallas; four grandsons, four granddaughters, four great-grandchildren, a step-grandson and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Kelly Waldrum, Bill Nixon, Paul Barnes, Paul Barnes, Jr., Earl Clark and Frank Ross. The family will be at 625 Jeanette.
