Wayne County Outlook 23 Nov 1967 Mrs Leah Dyer, 71, Albany, died Tuesday in the Baptist Hospital, Louisville of a massive heart attack. She was admitted to the hospital Friday of last week. She was the wife of the late James Dyer and daughter of the late Dr. J. A. Sloan. She had operated the Dyer Drug Store here since the death of her husband in 1948. This is one of the oldest business establishments in Albany having been founded in 1917. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. W. E. (Eula Pickens) Tucker, Fort Wayne, Ind., Mrs. Carlisle (Virginia) Pemberton, Downers Grove, Illinois, and Mrs. Ira (Jean) Dickens, Albany and a son, Jimmy Dyer, Albany. She was a member of the Albany Methodist Church. The funeral was Friday at 10:00 am in the Albany Methodist Church.
