Bio

Mrs. Mary Kennemore, age 92, passed away Friday, December 24, 2010 at Select Specialty Hospital in Desoto, Texas, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Ennis, Texas on November 21, 1918 to Frank Jurik and Anna Slovak Jurik. Mary was a wonderful wife and mother. While her husband Jerry Kennemore was alive, she helped to manage her husband's business, Jerry's Body Shop, which he opened in 1970. She was a great cook and was well known to Jerry's deer hunting friends for her wonderful home-made pickles. She was an active member of Our Ladies Altar Society and was also an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Kennemore, her sister Agnes Dolezal, and three brothers, Emil Jurik, Walter Jurik and Joe Jurik. She is survived by two daughters, Susan Valek and husband Donald of Ennis, Texas, and Denise Gordon and husband Danny of Coriscana, Texas; a son Pat Kennemore and wife Laura of Corsicana, Texas; seven grandchildren, Jerry and Jason Valek, Jarod and Eric Gordon, Ragan Kennemore Nichols and Jackson and Caroline Kennemore; and one great grandson, Bralen Nichols. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, December 27, 2010 at Corley Funeral Home followed by a Rosary at 7:00 PM at Corley Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Danilo Ramos officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Valek, Jason Valek, Jarod Gordon, Eric Gordon, John Marek and William Jurik.
