Bio

James Bentily (J. B.) Stephenson was born to William Robert Stephenson and Roxie Lee Brackeen in 1910 in Oklahoma. His siblings were: Eddie, Etta, Charles, Joe Dudley, Ada Viola, Robert, Lillie, Andy, and Pearl. He became a Pentecostal preacher and lumber grader in Cherokee County, where he met and married Leona Willard McGuire. They had a daughter, Dorothy, in 1932. J. B. and Leona moved to Pineland, TX in the 1950s, when J. B. was asked to move into a supervisory position at Southern Pine Lumber Company. They retired from (then) Temple in the 1970s and moved to Huntington, TX to live with their daughter and her family. In the 1980s, Lee developed Alzheimer's and J. B. spent his days taking care of her. She passed away in 1989. J. B. passed away in 1992. J. B. was a good father. He always wore overalls and loved to work outside.
