The services for Joseph L. Emenhiser, 83, 1719 W. 17th St., will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Parson Mortuary. Mr. Emenhiser, a charter member of Delaware Post 19 American Legion, died Saturday at his home after a short illness. The Bluffton native moved to Muncie when he was nine years old. During World War I he served 18 months in Europe in a heavy artillery unit. He belonged to the World War I Veterans of Muncie and Disabled American Veterans. For more than 20 years he worked at Chevrolet-Muncie. In 1952, he left that job to open his own business, Sanitary Septic Tank Co., which he operated with his sons until he retired in 1964 Surviving are one son, Marvin; two daughters Mary and Lorena; two sisters, Alma and Bertha; a stepsister, Carrie; a brother, Mearl; three half-brothers, Joseph, Delmer and Watson; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Tomlinson Cemetery. Calling at the mortuary is 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. today and before service Tuesday.
