Fort Bend Herald, February 8, 2010: Funeral services for Laura Moses Stroh Bankston, 73, of Shepherd, formerly of Rosenberg, are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Chapel, 1201 Fourth St., in Rosenberg. Burial will follow in Rosenberg City Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg. Laura was born Nov. 15, 1937 in Rosenberg to Edward Moses and Mattie Marie Stammann Moses. She passed away Friday, February 5, 2010, at Methodist Hospital Medical Center in Houston. She was employed by AT&T and was a lifetime member of the AT&T Pioneers. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. She loved to sew and especially enjoyed cross stitching. Laura was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Bankston; brother, John Daniel Moses; and an infant sister. Survivors include her son, David Stroh of Shepherd; former daughter-in-law, Joan Spinks of Livingston; best friends, Mary Cook of Rosenberg, Wilma Goolsby of Shepherd, and her children Mark and Candy Ellison of Cold Springs; and numerous cousins and other relatives. Memorials may be made in her memory to American Diabetes Association, 2400 Augusta Dr., Suite 175, Houston, Texas 77057; or to the American Heart Association, 10060 Buffalo Speedway, Houston, Texas 77054.
