Bio

He was the son of Nathan Benjamin Self & Larrinda Ellen Martin. 1910 census, Hood Co., TX: Irvin, age 23; Mary, age 22; Quinby 4 months. 1920 census at Pal Pinto Co.; 1930 Denton, TX: S.I. age 43; Mary, 42; Quinby, 20; Mable, 18; Ona, age 13; Louise, age 8. Residences include: Lipan, TX; Brazos, TX; Santo, TX; Weatherford, TX; and Denton, TX. In 1936, he was President of S.I. Self Motor Co. of Ft. Worth, TX, with his brother-in-law, Albert L. Stell, and his son, Quinby Self, a dealership for Wilys automobiles. The Ft. Worth company went bankrupt in 1938. He was the owner of S.I. Self Motor Co., Denton, TX, a dealership for Chevrolet and Oldsmobile. S.I. was also a banker.
