Bio

Herald Coaster, February 15, 1962: Rites for Joe Jurek, Sr., 83, of Wallis, were held from the Triska Chapel of Rosenberg and from the Guardian Angel Catholic Church, with Rev. Aloise Nesvadba officiating. Requiem Mass was held at 8:30 a.m., followed by services at the church. Mr. Jurek was born in Europe on April 27, 1878, and came to this country while a young boy. He passed away at his home following a short illness. Survivors include one son, Joe Jr. of Wallis; one daughter, Miss Rosie Jurek of Wallis; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; one brother, John Jurek of San Angelo; eight half-brothers and five half-sisters. Interment was made in the Krasna Cemetery, with Triska Funeral Home in charge.
