Herald Coaster, January 3, 2001: Funeral services for Elizabeth Kettler, 80, of Richmond, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, at St. John's Church of Christ, 1513 West St. in Rosenberg. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Her grandsons, Darrell Himly, Carlton Niemeyer, Bruce Niemeyer, Greg Schulte, Robert Wilbeck, and Jerry Janczak, will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Mrs. Kettler was born Sept. 4, 1920 in Brenham, Texas. She died Tuesday, Jan 2., 2001, at her home. She was baptized Nov. 14, 1920 in Sandy Hill, Texas, and confirmed at Friedens Evangelical Church in Beasley April 14, 1935. On July 25, 1937, she married Alfred Kettler. She was a 20-year employee of the Lamar School District. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mathilde Brinkmeyer; two brothers, Joseph Brinkmeyer and Walter Brinkmeyer; and one grandson, Andrew Niemeyer. She is survived by her husband, Alfred Kettler of 63 years; twin daughters, Shirley Niemeyer and her husband, Leo Niemeyer, and Gloria Himly and her husband, Walter Himly; grandchildren, Carlton Niemeyer, Bruce Niemeyer and his wife, Lorraine Niemeyer, Michele Wilbeck and her husband, Robert Wilbeck, Denise Janczak, Jerry Janczak, Darrell Himly and his wife, Gayle Himly, and Cheryl Ann Schulte and her husband, Greg Schulte; great-grandchildren, Lauren Niemeyer, Rebecca Schulte, Alyssa Schulte, and Connor Himly; one brother, Wilmund Brinkmeyer and his wife, Aleene Brinkmeyer; brothers-kn-law and sisters-in-law, Emma Lee Marek and her husband, Ed Marek, Georgia Kettler, Lonnie Kettler and his wife, Dorothy Kettler, Hilda Fay Sabrsula, Ella Mae Hodges and her husband, Cecil Hodges, Hilda Brinkmeyer, Edna Rose; and numerous nieces and nephews.
