Bio

Services for Mrs. Tula Black will be in Anson First Baptist Church with the Revs. Jack Maddox and Larry Baird officiating. Mrs. Black attended school in Oak Grove. She owned and operated the Hawley Cafe in the late 1950s and early 1960s, and also was a waitress and cook in other cafes. She was employed by the Anson school system in its lunchroom. She was a member of Prairie View Baptist Church and was the widow of E. J. Black, Sr., whom she married in 1918. Surviving are two sons; two daughters; two brothers, J.L. Beasley and Scott Beasley; one sister, Mollie Frances Martin; 19 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. She married E. J. Black, Sr. November 12, 1918.
