Rosenberg Herald, December 2, 1927: Mrs. Alphonse Schmidt, age 27 years, died at her home here Wednesday, November 23, after an illness of short duration. Mrs. Schmidt, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Malish of Rowena, was born in Taylor, Texas. She was loved and admired by a host of friends for her sweet christian character. Her sudden demise caused great sorrow among her family and her large circle of friends, for they were not prepared for the terrible shock. Deceased is survived by her husband and small daughter, her parents, four brothers, and five sisters, besides a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Rosenberg, Friday morning at 10 o'clock, Rev. Nemce of Wallis and Rev. Jas. Kveton of this city, officiating. The church was filled to capacity, for the services and the floral offering large and beautiful, attending to the high esteem in which this lovely young woman was held. Interment was made in the W.O.W. Cemetery immediately following the services at the church. Friends in this section join the Herald in extending condolence to the bereaved loved ones. Clark's Funeral Parlor of Rosenberg had charge of funeral arrangements.
