Ruth E. Sias: Newspaper Obituary and Death Notice Oregonian, The (Portland, OR) - November 16, 1997 Deceased Name: Ruth E. Sias A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 1997, in First Christian Church in Forest Grove for Ruth E. Sias, who died Nov. 12 at age 89. Mrs. Sias was born Sept. 27, 1908, in Elgin. Her maiden name was Thompson. She married the Rev. Hubert in 1929; he died in 1991. She assisted her husband during his pastorates of First Christian churches in several Northwest cities, including Forest Grove, Portland, Hillsboro and Lebanon. They retired in 1974 and lived in Cornelius since 1982. Survivors include her son, Timothy of Aloha; daughter, Cynthia Kubiak of Boise; sister, Beulah Smith of Portland; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Private interment is in the First Christian Church Columbarium. The family suggests remembrances to a memorial fund at the church. Arrangements are by Fuiten-Rose Mortuary in Forest Grove.
