Bio
Irene Laza, 74, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed from this life to live eternally with the Lord on Wednesday, November 24, 2010, after her courageous battle with cancer. Irene was born July 8, 1936, to Emil and Bessie (Vrana) Taraba in Ennis, Texas. She was a life-long Ennis resident and member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church where she served as Eucharistic minister and lector for several years. Irene was also a member of Catholic Daughters and the KJZT Catholic societies. She was pre-deceased by her parents and her husband of 57 years, Joe J. Laza, Jr. who passed away in October, 2009. She is survived by her children: Debbie and husband Glen Morgan of Haltom City; Randy Laza and wife Deborah of Dallas; Shawn Laza of Irving; Suzanne and husband Eric Ramirez of Austin; one brother, Emil Taraba of Ennis and his wife Ella; one sister, Pat Dietler of California; twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be 6:30 until 8 p.m. on Sunday November 28, 2010, with Rosary at 7p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel. Funeral services will be on Monday, November 29, 2010, at 11 a.m. at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Ennis, Texas. Interment will follow at Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
