Bio
Agnes L. Bartcher, the daughter of Rosa (Kindler) and Frank Voboril, was born July 24, 1914 at Esbon, Kansas. She departed this life on Friday, November 19, 2010 at the Golden Living Center in Downs, Kansas at the age of 96 years, 3 months and 25 days. Agnes spent her childhood years in Jewell County in the Esbon community and received her formal education attending rural schools. On October 14, 1940 she was united in marriage with Clifford Bartcher. They made their home in the Bellaire community and to this union were born two children, Gary and Glenda. In 1948, they moved to a farm southwest of Red Cloud where they farmed until 1958, when they purchased a farm north of Esbon. Clifford preceded her in death on October 10, 1983. Agnes remained in Esbon until 1996, when she moved to Red Cloud. In January of 2009, she moved to Smith Center, Kansas to live. She possessed a number of interests and activities in her leisure time including cooking, sewing, gardening and dancing with Clifford in their younger years. They were both avid sports fans and especially enjoyed following football and basketball. She was also a member of the Golden Rule Club. Agnes especially treasured the years spent helping Clifford on the harvest crew, feeding the crew during the traveling harvest season. Her greatest love and enthusiasm in life was for her family and she cherished the time they spent together. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; a great granddaughter, Baylan Rotherchild; two sisters Frances Reece and Elsie Cooper and two brothers Edgar and Glenn Voboril. Left to treasure her memory are her son, Gary Bartcher of Esbon, Kansas; daughter Glenda Rothchild and husband Delmer of Downs, Kansas; two grandsons and 5 great grandchildren, Shannon and Kristi Rothchild and children Kallan and Kenadie; Shea and Kasiah Rothchild and children Weston, Shelton and Hannah; other relatives and friends.
