Published in the Ord Quiz, Ord, Nebraska, Thursday, November 27, 1924, Page 1, Column 4 JOHN FISH John Fish was born in Pennsylvania December 10, 1843 and departed this life at his home in Ord, Nebr., Nov. 22, 1924, aged 80 years, 11 months and 12 days. He was a Civil War veteran having served with Co. C 20th Wisconsin volunteer infantry. He enlisted when 18 years of age and served three years. He was united in marriage to Miss Dorcas Crooks in 1869 and moved to Franklin county, Nebraska in 1873, coming to Valley county 20 years later in 1893 and this has been his home since. The Fish family lived on a farm near Olean for a good many years but for some years have resided in Ord. He is survived by his wife and one son, Devillo Fish of near North Loup. The funeral was held Tuesday at the local M.E. Church with Rev. Maynard officiating and interment was in the Ord Cemetery Provided by contributor Kathy Burr
