Married Apr 8 1869 Bear Grove, Guthrie, IA One adopted son ----------------------------------------- Mrs. Dorcas Fish Died Thursday As Result of Injuries Ord Woman, 89, Who Fell and Broke Bones 2 Weeks Ago, Is Laid to rest Mrs. Dorcas Fish, 89 year old Ord woman who was seriously injured on April 4 when she fell and broke her right shoulder and hip, died Thursday, April 13 in the Ord hospital, where she had been cared for after the accident. At 2:00 p.m. Sunday funeral services were held at the Frazier chapel, rev. Clarence Jensen conducting, and burial was made in the Ord Cemetery. Mrs. Fish was born in Coshocton county, Ohio, on Aug. 27, 1849. When five years old she accompanied her parents to Bear Grove, in Guthrie county, Ia., where she grew to womanhood and where at the age of 19 she was married to John Fish on April 8, 1869. In 1873 they moved to Franklin county, Nebraska, and in 1903 came to Valley county. For 14 years the Fish home was on a farm in the Olean neighborhood. In 1917 they moved to Ord which was Mrs. Fish's home until the past year, when because of failing health she was cared for in the farm home of a son, Ira D. Fish. Her husband died Nov. 22, 1924. Left to mourn, besides her son, are seven grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Jennie Brown, of Omaha; three nephews, Glen Brown, Omaha, Ralph Grubb and Clifford Crooks, Lincoln, and many other more distant relatives and a host of friends.
