Bio

Jefferson Gore was the son of William Greenbury Gore of Georgia and Charity Savilla Welborn of unk.(the obit says Georgia, other records say Anderson Co.SC.) "Jeff" Jefferson Gore married Mary Lewis before 1889 in Texas, likely near, Palestine, Anderson County, Texas. After, his 1st wife, Mary Lewis's death in 1905,many years later Jeff Gore remarried to Maggie Simmons Cox. Jeff Gore's 2nd wife, Maggie Cox, had a daughter,Ms.Estelle Cox, by prior marriage. Interestingly, Ms. Estelle Cox,daughter of Maggie Cox married John Murphy Gore,son of Jefferson Gore. A death certificate for Jeff Gore shows the informant, Mrs. Willie Savilla Gore Smith of Vernon, Texas was Jeff Gore's oldest daughter according to census records.
