Bio

Doris Virginia Scott, 67, died at her home in Steamboat Springs on Thursday, May 26, 1988. Graveside services were held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 28 at the Steamboat Springs Cemetery. She was buried next to her husband, Marvin, who died on March 1. Following the graveside services, memorial services were held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church at 10 a.m. Born in Callaway, Neb. on Jan. 22, 1921, Doris was the daughter of Herbert and Gertrude Liles. She and Marvin met in 1943. They were married on May 25, 1945 in Callaway. Following Marvin's discharge from the Navy in 1946, they moved to Steamboat Springs. They owned and operated the Nelson Dry Cleaning business until 1970. For 18 years prior to his death, Marvin was a contractor, specializing in custom home construction. Doris was a member of and active in St. Paul's Church. She was interested in gardening and was working on developing a garden in the home on Merritt Street she and Marvin shared for 32 years. She leaves two daughters, and three grandchildren, all of Steamboat Springs. The Steamboat Pilot Steamboat Springs, CO, Thursday, June 2, 1988
