Bio
Martha was born March 28, 1914 at Morse Bluff, Nebraska to John and Christina (Nesladek) Navrakal. She grew up on the farm near Morse Bluff, graduating from High School in Prague, Nebraska. Following high school, she moved to Omaha and worked as a bookkeeper. On February 16, 1946, Martha was married to Leland K. Nelson. They lived on his family farm northwest of Fremont. This was the farm where Leland was born and lived all his life. Leland died on April 13th of this year (2010), the day they moved into Fremont and into Shalimar Gardens. Martha was a farm wife, working along side her husband and raising chickens. Martha was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. She was preceded in death, in addition to her husband, by a brother and 2 sisters. Survivors: daughter; Bonny and husband Robert Lasho of Carlsbad, Calif. son; Ted and wife Lucy Nelson of rural Fremont 8 grandchildren 18 great grandchildren The funeral service will be 10 AM Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010 in St. Patrick's Catholic Church (3400 E. 16th St.) with Rev. Ron Battiato officiating. The committal will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Ludvigsen Mortuary, Fremont, on Friday (Nov. 12th) from 2 to 8 PM, and at the church Saturday morning for an hour before the service.
