Bio
Johnston, Martha Zemanek 94, after a lengthy illness, breathed her last earthly breath and entered life forever with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on November 6, 2010. Martha was a war bride, mother of two, grandmother of four and great grandmother of five. Born in Needville, Texas, on May 6, 1916, she was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph Zemanek and Christina Huff Zemanek of Blessing, Texas; husband, Leon; son, Leon, Jr., both of Dallas; brother, Victor Zemanek of Blessing; and sister, Liddie Pavelka of Dallas. She is survived by her daughter, Leona Caudle and husband, Frank of Austin; granddaughters, Lisa Williams of Houston; Laurie Caudle of Austin; Leslie Jewell and husband Rob of Boise, Idaho; April McLain of Lewisville, Texas; sister Sidney Bridewell of Plano, Texas and brother Joe Zemanek and wife, Maurine of Dallas; great grandchildren: Victoria Williams; Ella Grace Jewell; Luke Robert Jewell; Tyler McLain; Jordan McLain and a host of nieces and nephews. Martha devoted her life to her family and supporting her Air Force husband. She was an avid gardner and later was involved in fashion sales until her retirement. Her family rejoices in her presence among us and thank God for it. We also wish to express infinite gratitude to Forest Oaks Nursing Home, Hamilton, Texas, for their outstanding and loving care. Services will be held Thursday, November 11, 2010, at 12 Noon in Laurel Land Chapel. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to Noon before the service.
