Bio

Horace Greely Pennington writes: I have heard my grandfather, Jonathan C. tell of rafting lumber down Fishing Creek to the Susquehanna River down to Chesapeake Bay. The old farm now owned by Roy Pennington has been in the family since 1826. Jonathan C. Pennington and wife bought this tract of timber land and cleared the farm. The farm is in two counties, Columbia and Luzerne, and three townships: Fairmount in Luzerne County, and Benton and Sugarloaf in Columbia County.
